Description

Like a Steinbeck epic, Adam and Darcie have mastered the craft of storytelling. California Trail talks of life in a way familiar to all who listen to it, evoking a comfortable sense of nostalgia and daydream, as one journeys down the track list.

A worthy and triumphant follow-up to their debut record, The Valley Where I’m From, the new addition features a range and depth of instrumentation and vocals that honestly paints a landscape of the couples’ sense of community, and the love for one another that carries the music.

The group on any given day is a tight-knit assemblage of friends, augmenting a chemistry between Adam and Darcie that is truly unique, but could be likened to a project of Brian Wilson on a good day. Friends from multiple other musical projects in the Utah Valley area, as well as Portland, OR join the two adding a capacity that fleshes out the vision that Adam, and wife Darcie, have so masterfully articulated. California Trail brings a personal and sincere commitment to contemplative resolution, and musical sincerity, that most have written off as cliche-that is, until they listen to Adam and Darcie.
